*please note that this is not a giveaway, nor will the titles necessarily be free*

The Newbie by Leta P. Hawk is a Paranormal Mystery/Romance novel.

When Kyrie Carter wins a Halloween-themed radio contest and gets the chance to do her first paranormal investigation with Drac Petery and his heartthrob brother Gabe, stars of the hit show “Project Boo-Seekers,” she is excited and more than a bit nervous. She thinks her biggest challenge will be dealing with her unsupportive teammates, especially the handsome but enigmatic Spook Steele, who disparagingly refer to her as “Newbie.” However, she soon discovers that she has more to worry about than flesh and blood rivals as her dream weekend turns into a nightmare when the spirit that haunts the Berkeley mansion becomes aggressive and dangerous. Will Kyr be able to help the Petery Paranormal team unravel the mysteries of the Berkeley mansion and put the spirit to rest, or will she become the next victim of the house’s tragic history? And will she be able to sort out her romantic feelings for the off-limits Gabe, as well as her growing attraction to Steele?

About the Author

I don’t remember when I knew I wanted to be an author; it was just something that was always present inside my soul. Words have always fascinated me, especially the way the right words strung together could capture almost any experience and make it live for whoever was reading them. In fact, I loved writing so much that I was that one weirdo in class who would rather write a 10-page essay than take a multiple-choice exam.

I have tried my hand at many kinds of writing–poetry, children’s stories, short stories, novels, scripts, and the occasional song lyric (although I usually deal with parodies of popular songs rather than my own). In addition to writing about Kyrie Carter’s paranormal adventures, I am also working on a young adult fantasy/romance loosely based on the Arthurian legends.

When I’m not writing, I am busy working with children in various settings. I teach Sunday school, serve as a Den Leader for my son’s Cub Scout troop, and work with Bible Release time as a Coordinator, Listener, and Song Leader. I’m also the mother of two very active, creative, and intelligent boys and one very naughty, energetic dog.

My husband and I enjoy taking trips to Gettysburg, Florida, and the beach, and we hope to do some traveling out West in the near future.
