#NaNoWriMo Day Three

Today has been a really awesome day. I got lots of writing done and I had an amazing Skype chat with an awesome person.

30 Day NaNoWriMo Challenge

Day 3 – Pick one of your female characters. Introduce your readers to her, from her point of view and her words only.

My name is Safra. No last name. Monsters don’t have any need for those. I’ve been trapped in this place for longer than I care to think about, but at least I’ve made some good friends here. They don’t care if I can change the way my eyes look, or the colour of my hair, of even the shape of my face. We dream about escaping one day, setting up a plan and busting out, but we’re too scared to really do anything about it.

I don’t remember what my life was like outside of this place. I’m worried I’ll never know again…

So I didn’t get a lot of writing done first thing this morning because I had a Skype chat with a literary agent to talk publishing and writing and the direction my novel That’s Charming is heading because I donated to a cause through Twitter and am now having mentor sessions which will hopefully help me to kick my novel into gear and get it ready for publication. The session was really positive and encouraging and there was even an adorable husky puppy for the majority too!

Today I managed to write four chapters. It’s getting close to the halfway point in my story and I’m excited to get to the main action. I’ve already set the ball in motion so now it’s watching all the pins fall into place.

First line I wrote today:

I did stop to wonder why nothing had changed with Yuuki.

Last line I wrote today:

 Well that sucks.
