#NaNoWriMo Day Eleven

So, there was an armed robbery like ten minutes from where I work today… so, that was interesting… and terrifying!

30 Day NaNoWriMo Challenge

Day 11 – Ever tried collaborative writing (such as play-by-post roleplaying)? If so, what did you think of it?

I’ve done a couple different kinds of collaborative writing. I’ve done RPG writing on forums which was really confusing because of the people all posting at the same time and then having to rethink your character’s choices and dialogue, etc. I’ve also done chapter/paragraph about collab writing with a couple friends over the years but these eventually fizzled out because one half wasn’t as invested as the other. It’s interesting and I’m sure it works for a lot of people, but it never has for me.

I went back to my HP crawl today, so here’s how I got on with that!

After months of waiting, you’ve arrived on platform 9 ¾ and boarded the Hogwarts Express! Write to the nearest thousand as you settle into your seat and get ready for a long ride. If you need to write more than 500 words for this challenge and choose not to skip this round, take one Galleon.

So I was on 19,252 words when starting this challenge, so I needed 748 words to get to my nearest thousand. I sat and wrote and ended up with 759 words. It took me a fair amount of time to get this compared to my usual writing speed, but that’s because I was watching a YouTube let’s play at the same time so it’s my own fault…

Running total: 2,725 words, 3 Galleons.

And that’s where I stopped today, because I just had no motivation to do anything.

First line I wrote today:

Snow.

Last line I wrote today:

It had been a long time since I saw snow.
