Week In Review: May 23rd – May 29th

I can’t believe another week is over and gone already! I didn’t get a lot of things done this week, but I at least did some things.

Books Read

I’ve only finished one book so far this week, but am so very close to finishing a second that I’m going to include it in this post because I will finish it today!

I adored this story SO MUCH! It’s such a fun and exciting read with lots of action and laughs and adventure. I fell in love with this book so quickly and I jumped straight into the second book when I finished this one. This is definitely a new favourite series of mine.

Release Date: June 4th 2015

Unsurprisingly, the second book I’ll be finishing this week is the next book in the Alfie Bloom series. These are just such a joy to read that time flies and you don’t want to put the book down! I was up until 2am reading this morning and I only stopped when I literally fell asleep in the book. I’ll be hosting a special Alfie Bloom-themed review day on the blog tomorrow so both books should have reviews up by the end of tomorrow.

Release Date: June 2nd 2016

Books Read

I didn’t do a lot of reading outside of Alfie Bloom this week, but I did pick up one other because it releases this Tuesday and I’m on the blog tour!

This is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast and I was super excited to jump into it. So far, I’m really enjoying the dynamics that have been set up. Blossom has just left her family home to travel to a new and scary place with her soon-to-be husband that she knows very little about. She’s such a fun character to read about and follow and I’m super intrigued to see where the story goes.

Release Date: May 31st 2016

Blog Posts

This week I took part in Virginia King’s quirky guest post blog tour and reviewed her latest story, which is a short set in the world of her Selkie Moon Mysteries series.

You can find the guest post she did here, and the review here.

Overall, it’s been a so-so week. I was working a little overtime this week as well as going to a Society of Young Publishers workshop in Edinburgh so I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked for reading and blogging. Hopefully I can pick it up a notch this week because I’m not sure what the wifi will be like in Amsterdam and I fly out next Sunday!
