I was really surprised and mega-happy to receive a ton of proof copies this week. I’m supposed to be shrinking my list but it just keeps getting bigger and bigger!
I got this book from the wonderful folks over at The O’Brien Press. This is the one I was perhaps most excited about. I LOVE this trilogy and I can’t wait to see how it ends. I did jump right in and read the first page but then I denied myself the rest of it until I’ve read some of my other ARCs first. This one has been on my most anticipated list for a while!

Next, I was hooked up with a whole bunch of books from Gollancz (perhaps my favourite publisher ever so this was super exciting!). I was lucky enough to get both books in this series and it sounds like such an intriguing read that I can’t wait to jump into reading them. I’ve not read a lot of paranormal books and I’m glad I get the chance to change that now.
This book really intrigued me and I was glad to pick it up, even though I haven’t read the other books in the series. From what I’ve been told, this is a novella that ties in with the rest of the series, but can be read on its own and has enough information that I won’t get lost. I’m hoping so because it sounds too good to pass up!

This is perhaps the book I’m most excited about from Gollancz. I don’t read nearly enough Sci-Fi and this one just sounded amazing! From the Sci-Fi that I have read, I’ve always been slightly disappointed, so I’m hoping that this book will change that. Hoping to pick this one up fairly soon.

This one doesn’t appear to be on Goodreads, so I’ll link to its Amazon page. The lovely folks at Abrams & Chronicle sent this to me and it’s just stunning. Each left page is an illustration and each right page is a writing prompt based on the illustration opposite. There’s some great art and great idea starters throughout and I’m excited to begin working my way through it.

The final book I got this week was also from Abrams & Chronicle, from their imprint Amulet. This story sounds so intriguing that I actually picked it up and started reading right away. It’s a fairly short book so I’m expecting to fly through it when I find time to just sit down and read. So far, I’m liking the dual perspective and am intrigued about what’s happened to the missing boy. Looking forward to reading more of it today.
