Week In Review: January 2nd to January 8th

Books Finished

This was perhaps the best book I could have kicked my year off with. It’s got some romance, it’s got some mystery, it’s got danger, humour, social media… It’s a little bit of everything blended together to create a really well written and gripping story that I found incredibly hard to put down!

Release Date: June 1st 2017

This was my first physical book read this year and it was stunning. A true Scottish book with humour, heartache, and mystery. I devoured this book and felt immediately at home with the dialect and references inside. Fun Fact: I got a missed call from a number from Portree on the Isle of Skye while reading this book… and that’s where the book is set! Spooky!

Release Date: January 30th 2017

I’m so glad that I picked this one up as part of the #queer52 reading challenge. It’s been sitting on my shelf forever and I had no idea it was such a beautiful story! This has a scavenger hunt and the luckiest teens alive who get to work on movie sets. I fell into this one hard and was so sad when it ended because I just wanted to continue reading about these characters.

Release Date: May 5th 2015

This is another one I’ve had for a little while and I have to say this one took me by surprise. While I didn’t enjoy it as much as the previous three reads (and I think that’s just to do with how much I loved those three), this one was super interesting. Following a young witch in Salem, who is trying to control powers influenced by her emotions, this story takes a very dark turn that I wasn’t expecting but absolutely loved.
