#TBRTakedown 5.0 | Day One

Let me start off this post by saying that yesterday was quite a terrible day for me, overall. We stayed up to watch the Superbowl on Sunday night (which for us in the Scotland means staying up until 3.30am). So, after crawling into bed at 3.30am, I had to crawl back out again at 7.30am because we had builders coming over to fit our bathtub (finally! We’ve only been having to travel to my boyfriend’s mum’s for showers for the last two months).

Anyway, the builders didn’t arrive until 8.30am. I sat in the kitchen the whole time because I had to try and get them to keep the noise to a minimum so that Tim wouldn’t get a disciplinary (or fired) from his new call centre, work from home, job. I was bone-tired for the entire time that the builders were in.

When they left around lunch time, I headed through to the living room, allowing the cats to roam the house again. I made the mistake of lying down on the sofa. Next thing I know, I’m having a nap from 2.30pm to 6pm.

Now, lying on a sofa can be uncomfortable at the best of times, but I threw my back out last week and it’s still not great, so when I woke up I was in agony. Needless to say, I wasn’t really feeling like reading.

I played the sims for a while and then went to bed around 11.30pm. So, what did I read in between all of that?

Currently on page 19 of 465.

This is my book for the challenge to read a book that’s been on your TBR for over a year. I originally got this book through NetGalley and then later bought it in paperback. Since one of my goals for 2017 is to be 100% with my NetGalley stats, this seemed like a good choice.

Currently on page 9 of 368.

This book is from my latest haul and it comes out near the end of the month so I figured it would be my best choice for the second challenge.

Currently on page 4 of 413.

This is the fifth book in the Dresden Files series and it’s been far too long since I read a book from this series so I’m really glad to be jumping back into this world for this challenge.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. 32 pages is rubbish. I agree. I did, however, also finish this book yesterday:

This book comes out on Thursday and I was reading it last week but hadn’t gotten around to finishing it. It got priority yesterday and I read 202 pages to see it finished.

So really, my count from yesterday was 234 pages. But I’m only counting books that are actually from my TBRTakedown TBR.

Books Finished: N/A
Books Read: Burnt Paper Sky, A Thousand Cuts, Death Masks
Pages Read: 32
Challenges Complete: N/A
